What is Krav Maga?
Krav Maga is a reality based self-defence system that has been developed to make use of your natural instincts and reflexes for practical application. Krav Maga promotes an attitude to primarily avoid or diffuse threatening situations, but, should you need defend yourself, you will be equipped with the knowledge to defend yourself confidently with what’s proportionate and necessary.
At Junior Safe Krav Maga we specialise in teaching boys and girls from 5 years of age up to 16 years of age. The reason we train separate to adults is because our lessons are carefully adapted to match the students’ ages, physical abilities and level of maturity. Our training aims to build confidence; raise awareness of your environment; minimise the chance of engaging in confrontation and of course teach self-defence.
Krav Maga consists of realistic self-defence techniques, taught in a practical and enjoyable way, that are effective not only against other children but any adult assailants as well.
Our club promotes an appropriate and significant emphasis on safety, teaching when it is or is not appropriate to use these techniques for self-defence. If you are concerned about your children’s safety, Krav Maga training will give you peace of mind, even when you are not able to be with them.
Junior Safe Krav Maga does not promote physical altercation and use of Krav Maga techniques without very good genuine cause. Use of Krav Maga techniques outside of a supervised training session is to be treated as a last resort, when attempts to escape from or verbally de-escalate a serious threatening situation have not succeeded.
